momentarysilence asked:
I was wondering if your employer is supposed to take out federal and state taxes or if it is optional, I’m pretty sure that they are supposed to by law. I got my pay check on Wednesday and they didn’t take out federal or state taxes on it.
I work for Applebee’s and my check for the training and the week afterwards was only $102.68. I asked a friend of mine and she said that the reason they didn’t take out any state or federal taxes could be because I didn’t make enough. Could that be the reason?

Person paying taxes on a home not under their ownership, how long does this person have to pay taxes on the home before the state considers it theirs? Is this even possible?

We bought the car in MI and brought it home to TN to register it. The dealership made us pay sales taxes there. Now that we’re in TN we were told that we’re tax exempt when registering here because of being active duty military. The lady at the clerk’s office said that we shouldn’t have paid Michigan taxes at all. Should Michigan have charged us the tax? If not, how do I go about getting my money back? Thanks in advance.

I’d like to take the auto property tax credit on my return and hopefully let her take the mortgage property tax credit. With the maximum credit allowed at $500 in CT, and us paying a lot more than that in taxes, we want to legally minimize the amount owed.

I want to start selling baseball cards on this site. Basically, anyone can sell on the site and a buyer chooses what card they want and chooses what seller they want to buy from. Do I need to fill out taxes for this and a DBA? I am also collecting baseball cards and the cards I’m selling are ‘leftovers’ after I pick out my collection.

My husband is going to have a vasectomy reversal and my question is, can it, as infertility treatment, be deducted from taxes? At least part of it? Some websites compared it to the medical procedure to correct one’s disability (to have children) and such, I understood, are deductible. Do medical expenses have to be 7.5 % Gross Annual Income to be tax-deductible?

yodasminion asked: Historically we’ve had much higher taxes, especially in the ’50s and ’60s, and our economy was growing at a faster rate then than it is now. We raised taxes in the ’90s and it grew faster than in the ’80s, when we cut taxes.
I know the information economy has something to do with it, but IT was possible because we had an overall strong economy.
